Microsoft revealed on Wednesday that a new Windows 10 Technical Preview version would be released to users next week, but it turns out that the company couldn't wait any longer and launched it today.
The new Windows 10 build is 9926
and includes quite a lot of changes, many of which have already been presented by the company itself at the dedicated event this week at its headquarters in Redmond.
Windows 10 build 9926 is available to all Windows Insider Program members and can be downloaded free of charge on computers enrolled in the program.
Cortana and Continuum also available
Microsoft has included quite a lot of changes in this particular build, including a working version of Cortana, the personal assistant that finally arrives on the PC as well.
Cortana now comes not only with the feature pack that was available on Windows Phone, but also with PC-exclusive options and can control music playback, search your computer, and even send emails.
Continuum, on the other hand, is a feature that was specifically designed to allow you to switch from the Modern UI to the desktop and the other way around without interrupting the work. This option is specifically created for 2-in-1 devices, such as the Surface Pro 3 tablet, which can act as both a tablet and a laptop.
New ISOs also released
The new Windows 10 build 9926 also comes with fresh ISOs that allow users to perform a clean install of the operating system.
Basically, the new build is delivered via Windows Update, but these ISOs come in handy not only to those who are new to the Windows Insider Program, but also to those who'd like to start everything from scratch.
These ISOs are available on Microsoft's website, so click here to get the x86 build and here for the x64 version. These are direct download links for the English version.
